Howdy Doody - Canadian Puppet. An unidentified puppet (probably Papa La Touke) from the Canadian version of Howdy Doody, which aired on CBC from 15 Nov. 1954 to 26 June 1959; it had some different characters from the American version, including the emcee (Timber Tom), and was set in the "great north woods." The bearded puppet is 28" high and wears brown wool pants (with some tiny moth holes), a brown and tan jacket with wooden buttons, and a brown and white cravat. The body, including the shoes and socks, are made of a hard composition and painted. Numerous wires protrude from various areas.
