(Television and Radio History). Photograph of Chicago Mayor Martin H. Kennelly Inscribed and Signed, "It was a privilege to be on program of first television network broadcast. It was an historic event. Martin H. Kennelly, Mayor City of Chicago / Jan 11 - 1949," 7" x 8", matted to 9½" x 12½". Fine. The slightly grainy image of Mayor Kennelly was "photographed in New York as he spoke from Chicago during the program launching the coaxial cable transmission…" With two signatures of Lowell Thomas, top radio commentator during the 1930s and 40s, one on a business card (laid to larger paper), and one on a slip of paper inscribed to Bruce (Newton). (3 items).
