"Reward of Merit" Collection, 1860s-1880s. A great collection of 28 "Reward of Merit" cards which were given to students by their teachers for scholastic merit, industry, punctuality, and good conduct. These cards, which run from the 1860s through the 1880s, have the students' names and the teachers who awarded them. Many have attractive graphics (some in color). These cards are getting scarcer and more difficult to find. Very good overall.
