Prussian Officer's Dress Sword. Ca. late 19th century through World War I. Overall length 39", the polished 31" steel blade in very good condition. The black wire wrapped grip having a gilt monogram of Emperor Wilhelm II and the guard and pommel in gilt metal with a folding knuckle guard mounted with a crowned Prussian eagle and leather finger hold, the hilt retaining about 70% of the original gilding. The black steel scabbard with about 85% or more of original paint. Only slight age wear on this still attractive first war example.
