Roosevelt, Eleanor. Typed Letter Signed on personal letterhead, 1p, 8¼x6", New New, 19 Sept. 1951. Very fine; original envelope with stamped free frank. Informing an admirer, Mrs. Baxter, that she is "leaving for Paris to attend the General Assembly" and will resume her broadcasts as soon as her schedule permits.After President Roosevelt's death, she became a delegate to the United Nations General Assembly, specializing in humanitarian, social, and cultural issues. In 1948, she drafted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
