Burger Court. 9x14" Color Photograph on a 14x18" mount, signed by all nine members of the Burger Court, c. 1975-81. Fine condition. The nine justices signed on the lower mount: "Byron R. White," "William J. Brennan, Jr.," "Warren E. Burger," "Potter Stewart," "Thurgood Marshall," "William H. Rehnquist," Harry A. Blackman," Lewis F. Powell, Jr." and "John Paul Stevens." Burger was Chief Justice from 1969 to 1986, but this particular group of justices served together from 1975, when Justice Stevens joined the court, to 1981, when Justice Stewart retired. Roe v. Wade (1973) was the most controversial ruling of the Burger Court.
