Napoleon I (1769-1821) Emperor of the French. Document Signed "Nap" as Emperor, 1p, 12½x8", Bordeaux, 12 April 1808. Jean Boireau, Captain of Light Infantry, 17th Regiment, is named Chevalier (Knight) of the Order of the Iron Crown. This order was established in 1805 by Napoleon for his Italian subjects. The entire document is boldly penned on laid, watermarked paper.
