Ludwig II (1845-86) Eccentric "Fairy-Tale" King of Bavaria; patron of Wagner. His castle, Neuschwanstein, served as the model for Disneyland. Ornate, partly-printed Document Signed "Ludwig," 1 p, 13½x8", Munich, 14 Apr. 1867. Being a military promotion for Major Edmund Hõlfer to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Countersigned by Siegmund v. Pranck, Minister of War. A very attractive document with intact wafer seal and a large signature by the 21-year-old monarch.
