George II of Greece (1890-1947) Three Autograph Letters Signed, 2 on Brown's Hotel, London stationery, and 1 on the Royal Palace, Athens stationery, total of 5 pp, 8x5", 26 May, n.y., 26 July 1928, and 16 Oct. 1936. Fine; light toning.To "My dear Ranee," (wife of the Rajah of Sarawak), with charming, informal, and even flirtatious content! One regrets an invitation he can't accept; another concerns a photo he is sending for the Ranee to add to her collection in her bathroom; and the third sends thanks for a book the Ranee wrote with kind words about him, adding, "I feel so relieved by your free permit to be rude again, as the restraint has been such a strain!!…the end of your card was a provocation!!" The Rajah of Sarawak, his wife, and the Heir Apparent were granted court rank in England by George V.
