Getty, J. Paul (1892-1976) Oil mogul and art collector. Three Typed Letters Signed (one "J. Paul Getty" and two "Paul"), all on Sutton Place, Guildford, Surrey letterhead, 1965, 1970 and 1971, all to E.F. Hutton partner Gerald M. Loeb. Very good to fine. Two pertain to Loeb's book, The Battle for Stock Market Profits. The 1965 letter has interesting insight. In part,:"…I have never considered myself a business man but rather a man who is interested in many things, including business….I have never been convinced that my money, in the hands of a charitable institution, would do more good for the nation than it does now since it is fully invested in productive enterprises and the Fine Arts…".
