Rouault, George (1871-1958) French painter and printmaker. Autograph Letter Signed ("Rouault"), in French 1 ¼ pp, recto and verso, n.p., 2 May (?) 1952. Very good; 2 strips of 2 ½" tape at left margin (used to tip letter into a book). Rouault notes that he is in the South, "attempting to recover…from the efforts I am compelled to make at over 80…naturally on account of various planned retrospective exhibitions.…" Rouault’s daughter, Isabelle, writes below her father’s letter, asking "Monsieur" to take photographs of the works that he owns, with their titles and dimensions.
