Stylized Funerary Bust in Limestone. Southern Arabia, Sabaean, c. 1st-2nd century AD. The man's features boldly and starkly rendered with a short beard on an oval face, protruding mouth, wedge-shaped nose, recessed eyes, and sharply ridged eyebrows, on a rectangular slab. Beneath head, an inscription across - - likely the man's name. Height: 17-1/4". This is the type of large artifact that would easily compliment a decor of modern art, as well as other antiquities or traditional art.
