Two Fine Examples of Vintage and Modern Wood Craft. China. Oldest, an intriguing walking stick in bamboo, carved as a worm-eaten trunk, which allows the view of four contesting snakes within. More recent, about 20-30 years ago, a deep lidded box in rosewood and mahogany, with pastoral scene on lid, beautifully inlaid in brass wire. Cane: 36-1/2"; Box: 21" x 17" x 4-1/2". Lot of 2 items.
