China. Somewhat Larger Carvings in Jade and Agate. C. 19th -20th century. The jades in off white, celadons and greens, some with brown or red; plus 2 pieces in carnelian. Seen: a bulbous-eyed koi amid water plant leaves; other fish; a dragon spiraling up among clouds; a nice plaque with phoenix and dragon; bat on peach; chilongs; and amulets; along with two smiling boys with a drum. Lastly, in a vivid agate, an amusing bulbous-eyed koi is carved using the stone's coloring to emphasize the fish's eyes. Lengths: 1-1/4" - 3-3/4". Excellent lot. Lot of 19 items.
