Lot 694

1787 Connecticut Miller 33.42-Z.2 Rarity-7 F15. Draped bust left. Slightly sharper with myriad fine hairline scratches across the portrait. The scratches are light and do not alter the attractive glossy light to medium brown toning. There is a small splash of reddish chocolate brown toning at TO in AUCTORI and a small, shallow planchet flake under the E in CONNEC. Late die state with a slightly sunken retained cud break outside AUCT. The date and legends are strong. Superior to the Taylor and Perkins examples of this extremely rare variety, and possibly finest known. Weight 135.4 grains.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.

Realized $2,875
