1880, $5 United States Note. . Fr-71. . KL-201. PCGS Gem New 65. The Pioneer Family Type with large brown seal and red serial numbers. This distinctive design was in use from 1869 until 1928, when the government switched to small size paper money. It went through a variety of minor changes, but the main vignettes of Jackson and the woodchopper family remained throughout this tenure. Some early silent movies of the 1910s and 1920s show the actors using these attractive $5 bills!
