Lucilla, daughter of Marcus Aurelius; wife of Lucius Verus. Gold Aureus (7.28 g.), Rome, struck c. 169-183 AD. Scarce. Draped bust of Lucilla right. Reverse: Venus, draped, stands left, holding scepter and apple; VENVS. RIC 783; Calico 2218; cf. NAC Auktion 24 (12-05-06), lot 114 & 115, all coins from the same dies as this one. Sharp full strike, with fine high relief portrait. Pleasing brownish toning, mostly on obverse. Extremely Fine.
