Lot 2315

1907 $20 St. Gaudens. High relief, wire rim. NGC graded MS-62. Lightly toned and well struck. A lovely satin-gold example with subtle reddish highlights that add a touch of originality to the swirling luster artifacts in the surfaces. Several light contact marks are noticed in the devices and the normal stacking friction here and there but choice throughout and eye-appealing as one of only two Roman numerals gold coin minted by the U.S. before the modern period of the late 20th century, the other being the 1915-S Pan-Pacific fifties.
Estimated Value $14,000 - 15,000.

Realized $14,375
