Lot 2037

1874-CC $5 Liberty. PCGS graded AU-55. Rich golden toning. Amazing lustrous surfaces for this rarity from Carson City Mint, the fields and devices are alive with rich gold and tawny brilliance. Nicely struck for the date, too, with nearly all reverse details present, though nothing approaching "full" can be found on an 1874-CC half eagle. The surface condition is what concerns us here, and should entice bidders to put in a good show when the time comes, since the fields as well as the devices are simply outstanding! 21,198 coins minted. Pop 9; 6 finer; 4 in 58; 2 in 62. (PCGS # 8334) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 12,000.
