Lot 1851

1913 $2.50 Indian. PCGS graded Proof 65. A very choice example. A notable and rare coin in this grade. Remember that of the few coins that were minted in Proof, an unknown quantity were spent during the Depression. Only a few can match the quality here. On the obverse, we see no flaw or signs of contact, and warm golden-orange color that draws you in to it like it was magnetic. On the reverse, the identical rich matte gold color and without signs of spotting or mishandling. An opportunity for the specialist. 165 proofs minted. Pop 13; 7 finer in 66. (PCGS # 7962) .
Estimated Value $18,000 - 19,000.

Realized $21,850
