1855-C $1 Gold Indian. Sharpness of AU-50 cleaned and possibly retooled in the hair. A decent strike for this rare Charlotte mint issue. Nearly every coin seen is poorly made and struck on flawed planchets. This example, although with the mentioned defects, is quite pleasing overall. Only 9803 minted (PCGS # 7533) .
