Lot 1569

1916 Liberty Standing Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64 Full Head PQ. Fully white coin. Unstoppable in terms of choice surface preservation, both sides are satin frosted and essentially tone-free, a coin distinctly above the norm when it comes to aesthetic appeal. Struck with preciseness only now and then found on this key issue, all of Liberty's gown folds show completely, as does the shield with its tiny rivets (the rivets would be changed in size for the 1917 Type 1, and changed a second time for the Type 2 issues struck in 1917-30). A legendary rarity in this series, always commanding a lot of attention. It's rise in the world has been steady, strong, unhindered by even the few economic setbacks of the last century. Pop 106; 68 in 65; 9 in 66; 4 in 67. (PCGS # 5705) .
Estimated Value $23,000 - 25,000.

Realized $24,725
