1942/1 Mercury Dime. NGC graded FS-010.7 AU-58. Medium greyish-violet toning. Lustrous satiny golden gray surfaces with rich champagne accents. Nearly full hair beneath the cap and wing details on the obverse profile. Strong overdate, with the 2 over 1 clearly visible (also, the 4 in the date is doubled). A truly beautiful AU specimen of a popular modern rarity struck during the hectic wartime conditions of the Philadelphia Mint.
