1856 Quarter Dollar Octagonal. . BG-107. PCGS graded MS-63. Mostly untoned. Pop 34; 21 in 64; 2 in 65. This interesting little quarter from the early or First Period has a large FD (for Frontier and Deviercy, the minters) emblazoned on the forehead of Liberty. A unique location for one of these, and always intriguing. Light yellow to greenish gold luster, with frost on both sides and typical uneven strike (PCGS # 10376) .
