Cumberland City Bank $5.00 Note, Cumberland, MD. PCGS Very Fine 20 PPQ. Another very rare note, these were issued in two series (1858, 1862), one before and one after receivership. The earlier notes appear to be the less common variety. But then, with 5 or less known, common is a relative term. Very high grade for this note, and quite possibly the finest known, Shank considers this an R-7. Haxby MD-165-G2a, Shank 30.4.3.
