1855 Quarter Dollar Round. Liberty Head. . BG-227. Rarity 6. PCGS graded AU-58. Nicely toned. There were many minute differences in the die varieties of this Type. BG-227 has the 7th star nearest the lower loop of the hair bun; on the reverse, 55 in the date is low, and there are 4 pairs of berries on each branch. Most show die clashing, sometimes so heavily clashed that Liberty has a "broken nose." (The present early die state has exceptional detail and crisp appearance.) Pop 11; 62 finer (PCGS # 10412) .
