Lot 3964

1911-D $10 Indian. NGC graded AU-58. Bright with gold-on-gold somersaulting luster whose radiance on both sides of this cleanly original, almost mark-free example must be seen to be appreciated. Only the faintest trace of rub on the high points of the design. It is the mintage that'll cause bidders to sit up and take notice, since 1911-D has the lowest coinage total in the later series (not counting the 500 1907 Wire Edge pieces and 42 Rolled Edge coins). A mere 30,100 pieces were made.
Estimated Value $2,100 - 2,200.
Frank McCarthy Collection.

Realized $2,185
