Lot 3903

1929 $5 Indian. PCGS graded MS-64. Key date to this series and a coin boasting beautiful color. The frosty textured surfaces are awash in rich orange-gold colors, and both sides are uncommonly well preserved for this often indifferently produced rarity. Regarding this date, the clearest details are found mainly in the upper left areas on the obverse, while the feathers are somewhat weak as noted in flattened state of the vanes and barbs. A small mark by the Indian's neck; otherwise exceedingly choice and original for this very scarce coin. Pop 98; 7 in 65; none finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 8533) .
Estimated Value $26,000 - 28,000.
Frank McCarthy Collection.
