Bosporos, Kings of. Sauromates, c. 174-210 AD. Electrum Stater (7.83 g), struck 199/200 AD. Draped and diademed bust of king right. Reverse: Laureate head of Septimius Severus right, trident and dynastic date below (504). Frolova p. 178, pl. XXXIII, 28 (same reverse die). Sharp clean strikes, with unusually nice portraits. With pleasing light reddish toning. Choice Extremely Fine.
