Bosporos, Kings of. Sauromates, c. 174-210 AD. Electrum Stater (7.78 g), struck 194/195 AD. Draped and diademed bust of king right. Reverse: Laureate head of Septimius Severus right, trident and dynastic date below (504). Frolova p. 174, pl. XXXI, 21 (same obverse die). Sharp clean strikes, with attractive light reddish toning. A very elegant example of this coinage. A nice Extremely Fine.
