Macedonian Kingdom. Phillip III, 323-317 BC. Gold Stater (8.54 g), Babylon, struck 323-317 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right, snake ornament on helmet. Reverse: Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis; at left, M, below ΛY. Unlisted in Price, but cf. 3691 (M on obverse), and P180 (reverse as seen here). Well centered on oblong flan -- the reverse sharp! Some minor edge abrasions. Attractive style, with considerable luster, and light red-brown toning. Choice Extremely Fine.
