1802, 2 over 1. Wide date. B-3, BB-234. NGC graded AU-53. Lustrous, mint-frosty surfaces around the devices put on a show with their rich medium gray and gold color, the overall appearance greatly reinforced by extremely choice surfaces. Regarding this date, the obverse die has a Wide overdate, with most space between 8 and 0. There is a small raised die lump in the field by the 8th and 9th stars. This obverse die used to strike 1802/1 BB-234 only. REVERSE B was a more long-lived die used to strike 1801 BB-214 and repeated under 1802/1 BB-233. Pop 5; 25 finer.
