1946-S Liberty Walking Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-66 Star. Rainbow toning around the borders on both sides. Pop 3; 2 in 67 Star. What is most noticeable when one first examines this coin is its thick, vibrant mint luster -- okay, we fibbed, it is the resplendent color. Still, the thick luster underneath swirls around each side unimpeded by obvious abrasions and untouched by even a hint planchet imperfection. A coin of singular beauty and importance to the collector. Nicely struck for the date, perhaps not entirely so at the centers, but certainly a coin that gets proper mention where completeness of design on a 1946-S is almost impossible to achieve.
