Lot 1826

1917 Liberty Standing Quarter Dollar. Type 1. ANACS graded MS-65 Full Head. Russet toning around the borders. In a new style holder. Almost unrivaled in terms of exterior preservation, both sides are well frosted and for all intents and purposes free of marks. The color deepens as it moves outward from the "spotlight" white center on the obverse, with warm amber and russet the primary hues. A diminished impression is again the usual outlook for many coins struck this year, although those made at Philadelphia are usually sharp. For this reason, we are happy to report that this piece was left very boldly detailed by the recoil of the sharp dies; a fortunate occurrence. Nice square rims on both sides (PCGS # 5707) .
Estimated Value $800 - 900.
