Lot 1677

1837 Liberty Seated Half Dime. No stars, small date. PCGS graded MS-64. Well struck and satiny overlaid with uniform pale grayish lilac toning. This conditionally scarce No Stars offering is nicely toned with richly satin-frosted surfaces around the cameo-like figure of Liberty. The strike is generally free of criticism, and typical for an early Gobrecht-inspired half dime of the period, being sharp in all areas expecially the hair, gown, and lines in the shield. The wreath, too, shows outstanding detail. Pop 19; 5 in 65; 5 in 66; 2 in 67; 1 in 68. (PCGS # 4312) .
Estimated Value $1,200 - 1,400.
