Mexican Military Uniform From "The Alamo." 1800s style Mexican infantry uniform issued to the set of John Wayne's 1960 production of The Alamo, the first movie he ever directed, for use by cast members. The navy wool trousers have a red stripe; the label says, "Western Costume Co., Hollywood, Calif." The lighter-blue jacket has red cuffs and collar. In addition to directing, John Wayne also played Davy Crockett. As director, Wayne signed off on every aspect of this movie, including the uniforms. This uniform was originally acquired from the set by the costumer and has been stored in wardrobe archives since the production was completed. With COA from Hollywood Prop Supply.
