Murray, Mae (1889-1965) She began as a dancer in the 1910s with the Ziegfeld Follies; known as the "Girl with the bee-stung lips." Two original vintage 16 ¼" x 13 ½" photographs by Edwin Bower Hesser, with Hesser's backstamp on both. In one photo, Miss Murray wears a glamorous hat and holds pearls. Tip of upper left corner is missing and there is a break at lower right corner, plus a mark from a red grease pencil; "# 2" is penciled on the back. In the other photo, she holds a spray of flowers. There is a crease at lower right and both lower tips are missing; "#3" is penciled on the back.
