National Portrait Gallery of Distinguished Americans. 2 Vols, published by Monson Bancroft, New York, 1834 and 1835. This was the first issue of these volumes, which contain 70 portraits and biographies of important figures in American history. Vol. I has covers and several pages separated, and covers to Vol II are worn, but these volumes can be broken up and sold for the wonderful steel engravings.
