A Ship, A Mining Company, and An Industrialist. Papers of the U.S. Sailing Ship "Jasper" of Fairhaven, Mass., captained by Elihu Gifford. A group of 19 papers related to the "Jasper": crew list, promissory notes, accounts, receipts, port charges (including those from a voyage to Bahia); and expenditures for a visit to St. Helena: payments to captain and crew, disbursements, etc. Many sizes; some soiling; overall very good. With a group of some 20 1904-1906 letters and bulletins regarding investments by a Mrs. Bolster of Canada in the U.S. Smelting Company; and an unaccomplished engraved invitation to the Gramercy Park home of industrialist Cyrus W. Field.
