1898 Prototype "Monkey's Donation" Party Game. A rare and unique presentation copy consisting of six pieces: the transmittal envelope sent to the Library of Congress by Charles Zimmerling 14 April 1898, Copyright No. 15,350; the primer-coated cloth, 35x32", printed sheet with a large monkey in a festive jester's costume, holding an upturned cap outstretched in one paw; three large sheets, each 18x15", showing oversized, individually-numbered (1-20) "Indian Cent Pennies" entitled "One Penny For The Monkey's Donation," as well as a card containing a packed row of straight pins; and an additional 14¾x11¼" illustrated two-color advertising folio with "Copyright 1898 C.ZIMMERLING, PHILA." at the lower corner. Fine except for some creases and splits on the "penny sheets" from having been ensconced for so long.
