World War II 8th Air Force Gallantry Medal Group. Consists of a Distinguished Flying Cross with slot brooch and an Air Medal with numbered full wrap brooch, both with engraved naming on their reverses to "Sgt. Starling W. Boyce 95th Bomb Gp." Includes his Air Gunner Wings, pinback marked "Balfour Sterling", pair of collar insignia, a 3 x 5 wartime photo of Boyce in uniform and a 95th Bomb Group membership card for the Lucky Bastard Club, a humorous (yet deadly serious for those involved) organization for having completed a tour of missions in the European Theatre of Operations. Lots of airmen wished they would qualify for this distinction! A fine US Army Aircorps gallantry group of memorabilia.
