Lot 368

Union Cartridge Box Belt Plate. Made of sheet brass with lead and tin filling, 2½" in diameter, with embossed eagle having a nice brown and chestnut patina; a few edge dings from use. On the back are two eyes embedded in the lead filling, approximately 2" apart, for attaching the plate to the belt. From a Vicksburg, Mississippi dig in 1997.
