Humphreys (1810-83) was a Union general. With a Typed Letter Signed "H A du Pont" on U.S. Senate letterhead, Washington,1p, 10½x8", 8 Jan. 1913. Very good; toning and folds. Enclosing payment for "High Cost of Living." Du Pont (1838-1926) reached the rank of Lt. Col. and earned a Congressional Medal of Honor for Cedar Creek.
