Seven British Acts And Two Newspapers Related to North America. 1722: "An Act for the more effectual Suppressing of Piracy; a 1770 "Act…encouraging the making of Indico in the British Plantation in America"; 1790: an Act regarding the rights of loyalists after the American Revolution; an 1813 reprint of a 1764 report "…On the Subject of the Currency of Our American Colonies"; an 1828 Act regulating the carriage of passengers in merchant vessels; two 1843 Acts, one for giving effect to a treaty between Britain and the U.S. regarding extradition of criminals, and one regarding the apprehesion of offenders. Fine condition; all are 4pp or more; approximately 12" x 7½"; six have the British coat of arms on page one. With two issues of The London Times, one (27 Dec. 1823) containing President' Monroe's enunciation of the Monroe Doctrine, and one (28 June 1824) containing the complete text of a convention between the UK and the US for the suppression of the African slave trade.
