The Federal or New Ready Reckoner, 1793. First Edition of this "…Trader's Useful Assistant in Buying and Selling all sorts of Commodities Adapted to the Federal Money…From Half-Cent to One Dollar, Either by Weight or Measure Together with Interest Tables &c," 7x4", published by Samuel Sower, Chestnut Hill. It lists the table and interest rates in the new Federal money of "mills, dimes, cents, dollars and eagles." Fold-out pages show the tables of interest for the different states and their exchange for coins such as English and French Guineas, Spanish doubloons, French crowns, Spanish and French pistoles, etc. It also shows the conversion from English monies into American currency. Original polished boards; professionally rebacked spine with leather label and gold-stamped printing; light internal toning, else fine.
