1751 British Military Document From Boston. An £50 sterling exchange note to pay Majors Franklin and Williams "At Thirty days sight….", 6x7¼", Boston, 10 Sept. 1751. Fine; archival fold repair on verso. Across the top are three very sharply embossed British Revenue "VI Pence" stamps, showing the Royal Crown and rose motto, with the letter "F" adjacent to each side. Early record of British military service in Boston, the hotbed of the "Sons of Liberty" and the American Revolution.
