Malcolm X. Born Malcolm Little (1925-65). Black nationalist leader and spokesman for the Nation of Islam; founder of the Muslim Mosque, Inc. and the Organization of Afro-American Unity; assassinated by members of the Nation of Islam, from which he had resigned. New Testament with white vinyl covers Inscribed and Signed "As Salaam Alaikum - Greetings from the Fountain. Bro Malcolm X" in black ink on the first end page, 4½x3", n.p., n.d. Light toning and a few scuff marks to edges of covers, else fine. The formerly militant leader changed after his pilgrimage to Mecca in 1964; he began to preach to all races and was more hopeful for the future of race relations.
