Lot 315

1936 Lynchburg Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-66. A sparkling gem of the finest order. The luster is unbeatable underneath the toning, which happens to be all original and from the issue holder; advancing further along the quality scale, the strike is clearly full, being quite crisp in all areas. This piece depicts Carter Glass, a standard-issue politician of the day whose influence was strong enough to win him a place on the nation's coinage (why not Henry Ford or Thomas Edison?). Such nice original multicolor toning excites many commemorative coin collectors. In an old NGC holder. Worth a premium for the holder (PCGS # 9324) .
Estimated Value $500 - 600.
