Byzantine Empire. Andronicus II & Michael IX, 1295-1320 AD. Pale Gold Hyperpyron (3.85 g), Constantinople, struck c. 1295-1320 AD. Bust of Virgin within multi-towered city walls. Reverse: Andronicus and Michael kneel on either side of Christ, who crowns them both. SBC 2396. Usual areas of flat striking, but not a bad example overall. Lightly toned. Extremely Fine.
