Roman Imperatorial Period. Julius Caesar, d. 44 BC. AR Denarius, North African mint, 47-46 BC. Diademed head of Venus right. Reverse: Aeneas left, with Anchises on shoulder. Craw. 458/1; RSC 12. Good sharp strike, with considerable luster remaining. The Venus pleasantly pretty. Lightly toned. Nice example. ICG graded EF-45.
